Warriors are a tanking class with the highest health and most numerous amount of combat abilities in Everquest. Humans, Frogloks, Gnomes, Iksar, Vah Shir, Halflings, Wood Elves, Half Elves, Dwarves, Barbarians, Ogres, Dark Elves and Trolls are all able to choose the Warrior class.
Warriors are the best tanking class available for play in Everquest. They are able to wear plate armor, which drastically increases their AC (Armor Class). They also have the highest amount of combat abilities in the game, including Riposte, Disarm, Parry, Double Attack, Dodge, Kick and Taunt. They learn most of these abilities at a lower level than any of the other classes, except Monks. Warriors need to focus on accumulating as much health and defense as possible.
The real strengths of the Warrior class come from their ability to wear plate armor and take huge amounts of punishment from enemies. Their Disarm ability un-equips the weapons equipped by the enemy, thus drastically reducing the amount of damage they can deal. Riposte, Double Attack and Kick are all ways to increase damage and threat.
The most potent threat generating ability had by Warriors though is Taunt. This ability has one simple purpose. That is to generate threat. It deals no damage, but will draw the enemy away from others and focus their attacks on the Warrior. Taunt also causes enemies to say fun little statements such as , “Me smash you tiny human!”.
Warriors have one role and one role only. That is to tank. Warriors are the absolute top of the line when it comes to taking damage from powerful enemies. Warriors are often sought after, especially in raids, to tank, due to their massive health, stamina and defense. Warriors sometimes pull enemies to groups, but this is only if one of the more adept pulling classes, such as Monk or Ranger are not available.
Warriors are only able to solo at low levels, and soloing should not even be attempted past level 35. This is due to the fact that they have absolutely no magic abilities and therefore no abilities to heal, past Bind Wound, which heals a minimal amount of damage. Every battle encountered will dwindle health and increase the time it takes to restore the massive health pool that is both blessing and curse to Warriors.
