Rogue Mastery in Titan Quest - Description of Character Skills & Masteries in Titan Quest - Rogue Mastery

Page content

Basics

The Rogue Mastery is part of the core, or unexpanded Titan Quest game. THQ has distributed the game and it does have one expansion in Immortal Throne (put out in 2007). Earlier this year, in 2008, Iron Lore (the brains behind the operation) closed it doors and left thousands of avid fans still playing their game. Both online and offline, Titan Quest brings the lore and legend of great Rome to the monitor on a Diablo 2 platform.

Rogue Mastery

Rogue Mastery is full of thieves and lies and stealthy battles. It is for the player that doesn’t mind getting down and dirty when need be. You can pair it with other masteries and get some interesting builds.

Pairing Rogue Mastery with Spirit gives you a Warlock and with Nature gives you an Illusionist. With Earth you’ll have a Magician and with Storm you’ll have a Sorcerer. Those four builds are considered hybrid classes. If you pair the Rogue with a Warfare mastery you’ll get Assassin and with Defense you’ll get a Corsair. Also with Hunting you’ll get the Brigade. Those three are considered melee classes. Choose wisely.

These hybrid classes (rather than pure masteries where only one is selected) merely give you more spells and actions to try in the game. Read through all the masteries before you decide on which to choose as you can’t change them afterwards like you can change your skills. Combination classes will only open up the ability to take from the skills in each of the two masteries you select. I can’t tell you what a Corsair is going to play like, because you are going to create it customized to your playing style

Mortal Wound will increase bleeding and poison damage.Requires Lethal Strike as a prerequisite skill and can be powered up to 8 levels. Each level increases the amount of bleeding and poison damage inflicted by attacks.

With these twenty skills, you are better equipped to pair up Defense as a secondary mastery as the Rogue class is light to nonexistent on the defense skills. Also you can do it with Warfare for a little extra punch in your attacks. You will want fast weapons that will hit many targets over a weapon that will deal more damage because you are using poisons and other time released damage skills.

With the Rogue Mastery you will want to put on as many items as you can with a good dexterity boost so that you can wield the weapon of your choice. Whichever your path, go over all the skills in the game to see which pure build (just having one mastery) or which hybrid (having the two masteries that you are allowed in the game) you would like to play.
