Join Landon on a prototypical western mission: liberating a group of prisoners in a wagon train and then delivering them safely across the river into America. This is your final mission with Landon, so be sure to soak up as much as wisdom as possible while you’re at it.
“The Demon Drink” mission is your introduction to both the fire bottle weapon and the disreputable tactics employed by the current Mexican government in Red Dead Redemption. Help De Santa clear out some rebels and then use your molotovs to burn down their homes.
Luisa’s family is afraid of the coming revolution, and asks you to help their youngest daughter get to the docks so she can sail to safety. You’ll have to dodge army roadblocks and eliminate pursuing soldiers who regard you as rebels to get her there.
Join Landon and a few of his “friends” for a friendly game of poker. It doesn’t take long for things to get out of hand, and you’ll find yourself dueling a nice German fellow in the middle of town. Once he’s down, his friends show up and attempt to avenge him, forcing you to deal with them.
Nothing brings an aging gunfighter out of retirement like a good old kidnapping. John and Landon fight their way through a squad of Mexican Army soldiers in order to rescue Luisa, then make a hasty escape on horseback. Shoot fast and ride faster in this Red Dead Redemption mission.
Irish claims to know a way to get across the river and follow Bill Williamson into Mexico, and John as little choice but to trust him. About halfway across the river, Irish’s Mexican fans show up and the two of you are forced to defend your raft as it drifts aimlessly down river.
In your first mission for new contact Landon Ricketts, you’ll receive both an upgrade to your Dead Eye ability and a shiny new Schofield Revolver. You’ll also have a chance to put both to the test almost immediately when Landon recruits you for a rescue mission.
You’ve worked your way through a motley crew of assorted contacts to get everything you needed to force your way into Fort Mercer, and now it’s time to put your plan into action. While machine gunning Bill Williamson’s men provides a bit of closure for John, the end result is more frustration.
Irish has sunk to a new low when you begin the “On Shaky’s Ground” mission, robbing a pair of nuns. John will show him the error of his ways, then the two of them will infiltrate a Thieves’ Landing warehouse to get much-needed ammo for the assault on Fort Mercer.
The search for a Gatling gun leads John underground in the “Man is Born Unto Trouble” mission. You’ll fight through a camp filled with angry miners, infiltrate their mine, and make off with their machine gun. Your old pal Irish actually comes through this time.
