    The Three Types of RvR

There are three main types of RvR (Realm versus Realm) play in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, which are: Battlefields, Skirmishes, and Scenarios. This mini guide will go through each one of them in detail so that you can easily see which type is the best for your gaming style and which one you might benefit the most from playing.

Each different type of RvR play offers a different gaming experience from the others, and they all offer something better than just PvE play throughout the entire game. Depending on what type of player you are, you will prefer playing in an area with many other players or those that offer you one-on-one combat.

    Battlefield RvR Play

We'll start our mini guide out with the battlefield areas of RvR play, as they are the main areas where you will find RvR opportunities in the game itself. Battlefields are the large, open areas in the Tiers where there are players from both factions that are trying to control a specific objective. (This is extremely similar to many of the PvP battlefields that you will find in many other MMORPG games.)

Those who play in battlefields not only win great rewards for winning fights with other players of the opposing faction, they also gain a great amount of renown points and reputation when they control the battlefield and capture the objective. These battlefields are supposed to be the main RvR areas of the game and are intended to be the areas where players from both factions will encounter the vast majority of their RvR play in the game. There will always be hundreds of players in these area versus some of the other areas where there might only be one to five players in a RvR play.

Battlefields are normally areas in the zones that are surrounding a specific landmark, like an outpost, shrine, farm, or other objective point. The players from each side will be able to fight the other side in an open RvR play here in the battlefield. The outcomes of each individual battle can actually have a major impact on how the battlefield objective is won, or lost.

In the next part of this mini guide, we will go through the different scenarios that are in the game currently, as well as what they are, how you complete them, and where you will find them in the game.
