Primary Weapons - AS50, FAL and SVD

AS50 – This is a heavy-duty semi-automatic sniper rifle of British origin, and a modern weapon still used by forces in the UK and Ireland. It fires .50-calibre rounds which will cause devastating damage compared to other rifles, and this fact makes it an important addition to any weapon arsenal. The low recoil system allows it to retain accuracy when firing multiple shots and it is accurate at very long ranges (if you are a good marksman, that is). However, the Accuracy International AS50 (an appropriately named weapons manufacturer) is guilty of quick deterioration even when it has been subjected to little use. Despite this, on later missions it can come in handy due to its deadly accuracy, as long as used sparingly and to effect.

An AS50 costs 35 diamonds, so you may have to save up in advance. Its magazine capacity is 5 rounds. Upgrades are expensive too; Accuracy and Reliability upgrades will cost 8 diamonds, whilst ammo-capacity (Marksman Bandolier) will cost 15 diamonds. These weapons are found in the Convoy 3 of the Bowa-Seto map.

Dragunov SVD - The Snayperskaya Vintovka Dragunova, or Dragunov Sniper rifle, is a Soviet era weapon produced in the early 60’s and widely used as a standard sniper rifle. It is semi-automatic and, although it may not be as powerful as the AS50, it can fire in rapid succession to eliminate more than one target at long range. The scope features chevrons instead of a crosshairs, and you can aim with the top chevron in order to hit your target. The fact that it is a highly reliable weapon should make it the preferred choice over the AS50, and it is also less costly.

A new SVD costs 20 diamonds; Accuracy and Reliability upgrades cost 5 diamonds whilst ammo-capacity is 15 diamonds. The rifle holds 10 rounds as standard. It can be found at the beginning of the campaing, Leboa-Sako in convoy 4.

FAL Paratrooper – This is a well balanced assault rifle and it is somewhat better than the AK47, since it can deal out accurate damage at short, medium and long ranges. However it doesn’t come near the Kalashnikov in terms of reliability and can degrade quite quickly. Since it is a favoured weapon in the Bowa-Seko region, by militants and mercenaries alike, you can probably pick one up and decide if it’s worth the trouble. This is helpful since this weapon is quite expensive and often discarded in favour of the AR16 or the more popular AK.

A FAL costs 10 diamonds; Accuracy and reliability upgrades cost 3 diamonds and more ammo costs 10 diamonds (Assault Webbing). The standard capacity is 30 rounds. This rifle can be found right at the start of the Bowa-Seko campaign.
