Jack’s been spending a fair bit of time daydreaming about adventures, and John decides it’s time for him to start learning a few things about hunting. You’ll take Jack deep into the wilderness and show him how to shoot and skin elk, then sell the fruits of his labor.

A pack of wolves have been threatening the livestock on the Marston Ranch, and John decides Jack is old enough to accompany him as he rides out to deal with them. The two of you will shoot the wolves together, and discuss some important things along the way.

Edgar Ross and his federal goons make a dramatic return to the lives of the Marston family in this mission. John will defend his family from the onslaught, but will be unable to escape his fate in the end. This tragic mission isn’t the true finale of the game, but it is the last formal mission.

Jack has overestimated his hunting skills, and headed off into the wilderness alone to hunt grizzly bear. Uncle, of course, failed to stop him. As John, head into the nearby mountains to save Jack before he’s killed by a hungry bear.

In the true final mission of Red Dead Redemption, Jack Marston, now grown, tracks down the man responsible for his father’s death: Edgar Ross. He’ll go through Ross’ wife and brother along the way, before a final duel with the man himself causes the credits to roll.

The time has come for Uncle to help John put back together the ranch he let fall apart in John’s absence. The two of you will take the herd out to pasture, and John will have the chance to stop a train robbery in progress. Or not, depending on how you feel.

Uncle has failed once again, this time by not immediately letting John know that a herd of good-looking wild horses had wandered nearby. Head out with Uncle and tame a few of them for the ranch using the skills you learned in the “Wild Horses, Tamed Passions” mission.

John’s finally found what he’s been searching for: the chance to deal with his old pal Dutch once and for all and get his family back. You’ll storm the fortress at Cochinay with federal forces, then chase down Dutch for a one on one final showdown.
