It’s the big finale. It’s finally time to rescue Doctor Koell and stop the opposition. Vesuvius is a full battlefield and there’s a lot of opposition agents around. If you want to win the day, then you’ll need to fight hard and fight smart. If you need any help, then look here.
It’s time for one quick trip to WWII for a little bit of sniping. Your mission is to take out all of the German commanders and rescue Petrovich’s son, but it gets a little complicated. You’ll now have to do a little bit of a prison break to set him free.
It’s time for our final trip to the Civil War. We need to help the Confederacy regain their strength to set things back to normal. There’s also a lost superweapon that needs to be recovered. If you need any help taking on these incredible odds, then just take a look here.
We need to do a little bit of cleanup work on the Russian front. It seems like we altered history pretty badly, so it’s time to join up with the Germans to fix things up a bit. If you need any help reestablishing the German line, then look here.
The 3rd Arc begins with a new target. You need to safely pull Jonathan Welsh from the Civil War, too. This means being pushed into another tough battle. You’ll need to help take the bridge and break the Confederate line if you want to find Welsh and escape.
It’s time to go back to the Civil War and make another attempt to pull Joseph Welsh out of the fire. You’ll need to help the Union attack the Confederate forces at the Church and then hold it against one very strong counterattack. If you need any help, then look here.
This final part of 2nd act will allow you to blow up a big bridge, crush the Germans, and finally rescue Petrovich. I’ll show you how to defeat the German defenses, how to blow up the trestle bridge, and how to defend Petrovich from the German attack at the farmhouse.

You get a free license for destruction in this stage of Darkest of Days. You need to blow up 3 bases and clear the way for Petrovich. This nonlinear level is still a bit of a challenge though and you’ll need a bit of planning to get through it without getting blown up.
