If you want to get one of the better rifles in the game, you will need to quickly do an investigation into a crooked quartermaster call Contreras. While it’s possible to help this smuggler and thief, the quickest way to get “This Machine” is by working the case for Lt. Carrie Boyd.
NCR supporters can help restore Camp Forlorn Hope by finding needed supplies and helping Dr. Richards heal the wounded soldiers in his tent. You’ll also get to lead an attack on Nelson to secure the region, if you want.
Medical Mystery is a brief quest that you can pick up at Camp Forlorn Hope to help restore some lost medical supplies from Dr. Richards’ Stock. I’ll tell you how to handle the thief, Private Stone, and get the most out of this quick quest.
Unfriendly Persuasion is a quick quest that gives you multiple options for dealing with some NCR mercenaries that are harassing the super mutants in Jacobstown. It’s possible to make a lot of caps quickly if you play your cards right.
Run Goodsprings Run is a counterpoint to Ghost Town Gunfight and the evil option for the starting town. If you don’t want to help Ringo and Trudy, you can join the Powder Ganger assault and help Joe Cobb conquer the town for his own purposes.
This is potentially one of the first quests that you’ll get in Fallout: New Vegas. The town of Goodsprings needs your help with fighting off a group of Powder Gangers that want to kill Ringo, a trader that they’re protecting. If you need help defending Goodsprings, look here.
One of the more humorous role playing games in recent memory, Fallout 2 pulls out all the stops to fill the post apocalyptic wastes of Northern California with dark humor. The ability to plant a live grenade on an enemy, then step back and watch the resulting fireworks, is a perfect example.
We’ll join up with the Powder Gangers outside of Goodsprings in the NCR Correctional Facility for this string of missions. You can either help the NCR take the prison or help defend it. I’ll tell you how to complete them and how to get these quests if you’re vilified by the Powder Gangers.
You can get a lot of easy reputation with the NCR and feel like a hero if you can manage to retrieve Ranger Morales’ Body from the Fiend ambush at the Repconn facility. If you need some help getting the body to the NCR, look here.
This quick but interesting mission at Camp Golf allows you to help an under performing and dysfunctional squad, called the Misfits, pass their training courses and become a strong NCR squad. Or you can make them all drug addicts or help them leech off of the NCR.
