Barring the occasional role playing game that included rudimentary stealth mechanics, the stealth genre wasn’t created until Looking Glass Studios released Thief: The Dark Project in 1998.
Thief: The Metal Age was the sequel to Thief: The Dark Project and continues a look into stealth-based pc gaming. The new game featured some enhancements to the engine, increasing model detail, texture sharpness and lighting complexity.
Splinter Cell - developed by Ubisoft and based on the books of Tom Clancy - is also a console game, but every PC port has been of consistently high quality that it is worth mentioning in this series.
It’s a faithful port of the console version, which is a new installment in the long-running Dynasty Warrior series. Despite some graphical problems, I still enjoyed it.
