The next area that you’ll hit in Northrend is the Dragonblight and it’s for those between levels 71-74. Here is the main area of the dragons, and you’ll find an awesome assortment of monstrous dragon bones lying all over the area. There are several Alliance and Horde towns here as well, namely Fordragon Hold (Alliance) and Agmar’s Hammer (Horde), where you’ll find flight paths to different areas all over Northrend. A new race of Tauren reside here, the Taunka, and you’ll also find the Blue Dragonflight and Malygos here. But, it’s not just quests that you’ll find in this weird region – this is also the home of four dungeons, two are normal, 5-man dungeons, and two are 10-25-man raid dungeons. The normal dungeons that you’ll find here are Azjol-Nerub and Ahn-kahet, and the raid dungeons here are the Chamber of Aspects and Naxxramas.
This area is for those that range between levels 74-76 and offers some great troll factions. The major faction here is the Drakkari Ice Trolls, who are ruled by the Frost King Malakk. This area reminds me a bit of Winterspring, but the overall feel is darker and more dreary. In this area, most of the towns with flight paths are neutral, such as Argent Stand and Ebon Watch. There are also two dungeons here for your playing fun: Drak’Tharon Keep and Gundrak, which are both normal, 5-man dungeons. There are several quest lines here, but most revolve around the troll faction that resides here or the Argent Dawn.
Want some greenery instead of all the ice and snow? Well, the Grizzly Hills have it. This area is more like the Un’Goro Crater, and you’ll finally get a break from the white and blue that you’ve gotten used to seeing for a bit in the game. Here, you’ll find a main settlement of Dwarves as well as a monstrous Furlbog settlement – which you will find that you will be questing against several times. The main cities here for the Alliance are Amberpine Lodge and Westfall Brigade Encampment, and the main cities here for the Horde are Conquest Hold and Camp Oneqwah. This area is suited for those who are between levels 74-76.
The next part of this series will go through the remaining areas of Northrend: Sholazar Basin, Crystalsong Forest, The Storm Peaks, Icecrown Glacier, and the sanctuary city of Dalaran.
