World of Warcraft Guide: Character Professions - Apprentice Alchemy Recipes

Basics

Alchemy is a great profession if you are into potions and effects. These are the recipes that you can find and train in as an apprentice alchemist. It will cost 8 copper to train as an apprentice alchemist and you will get three recipes free when you first take the profession. A good idea would be to train in the herbalism profession, which allows you to gather the herbs needed to make alchemy recipes in the world around you. Herbalism trainers are usually located right next to alchemy trainers, and apprentice alchemy only costs 8 coppper to learn as well.

Alchemy Leveling

Alchemy is an expensive profession to undertake, as finding all of the reagents yourself can take quite a while, making it much easier to purchase the items that you need on the auction house. You can cut costs by questing in areas that are proportionate to your herbalism skill, as items required for lower level potions tend to grow in lower level areas, and higher level areas tend to have higher level ingredients. Also, be sure to make orange and yellow recipes as much as possible, as orange recipes gaurentee a skill increase and yellow recipes are very likely to cause a skill increase. Constantly searching for recipes on the auction house or visiting a trainer as often as you can is a good way to make sure that you always have a yellow or orange skill available.
