The largest section of cheat codes found in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 is the number of cars you can get. There are thirty-six total codes you can enter for these vehicles. Start out on the main menu to enter your code. A message will appear once you enter the code, but remember you will not be able to save these cars; you’ll have to re-enter the code the next time you play. Here are the codes you should enter for the cars, listed in alphabetical order by vehicle name:

Cheat Codes: Special Effects, Tracks, and Events

Besides the extensive list of cars for Hot Pursuit 2, there are also other cheat codes that can be entered into the game. These include the special effects for the game, cheat codes for tracks, and two events. There are four special effects in the game: monochrome graphics, fog during a race, adding motion blur, and chrome paint which can all be unlocked by entering the cheat code at the main menu. To get the monochrome race, enter R1, L1, Left, Triangle, Left, Left, Left, L1. Turn on the option for fog during a race by entering Triangle, Square, Right, R2, Right, Right, Right, Square. For the motion blur, enter L2, L1, R1, Square, R1, R1, R1, L1, and for the chrome paint option enter L2, R2, Left, Square, Left, Left, Left, R2.

The nine unlockable tracks use the following codes: To unlock Alpine Track, enter Square, Square, Triangle, Triangle, Left, Left, L2, L2. The reverse Alpine track uses the code Left, Left, R2, R2, R2, Left, R1, Square. The Ancient Ruins reverse track code is Right, Right, Left, Left, Left, Right, L1, Square. To unlock the Autumn Crossing Track use Right, Right, Triangle, Triangle, R1, R1, Left, Left. To play the track in reverse enter R1, R1, Right, Right, Right, R1, R2, Triangle. The Calypso Coast Track code is R2, R2, R1, R1, L1, L1, Triangle, Triangle. The track in reverse uses the code Triangle, Triangle, Right, Right, Right, Triangle. The National Forest Track code is Square, Square, L2, L2, R1, R1, Left, Left, and the final track code, for the Wind Falls Track in reverse, is R2, R2, Square, Square, Square, R2, Left, R1.

The two events that have cheat codes are the Championship Event 31 and Ultimate Racer Event 31. The cheat codes for these are L1, Square, R2, R2, R2, R1, L1, Square for the Championship Event and Right, Square, Left, Left, Left, R2, Right, Square for the Ultimate Racer Event. Make sure you get a confirmation message after you enter the cheat codes so you’ll know you entered them correctly.

Unlockables

For those who like a little more challenge in their games, there are many tracks and cars that can be unlocked by meeting certain requirements. Here are the unlockables for Hot Pursuit 2. To unlock the Ford Crown Victoria you must finish Hot Pursuit Event number 5. For the Porsche 911 Turbo, earn 800,000 points, and to unlock the Vauxhall VX220 win any of the single races while holding first place for all laps during the race. The Alpine Trail Track can be unlocked by doing Championship Event 22 or Ultimate Racer Event 15. Ancient Ruins II can be unlocked by completing Ultimate Racer Event 12. Ultimate Racer Event 17 unlocks Autumn Crossing and Ultimate Racer Event 14 unlocks Autumn Crossing II. Calypso Coast can be opened through Ultimate Racer Event 10 and Calpyso II by Ultimate Racer Event 26. Championship Event 4 opens Coastal Parklands, Championship Event 25 opens Desert Heat II, and Championship Event 24 opens Fall Winds II. Island Outskirts II can be ulocked through Championship Event 8, Medetirranean Paradise II by Championship Event 14, and National Forest through Championship Event 11 while National Forest II can be ulocked by completing Ultimate Racer Event 6.

To unlock Outback Track you’ll need to finish Championship Event 11 and Ultimate Racer Event 25 for Outback Track II. Palm City Island and Palm City Island II can be opened through Ultimate Racer Events 28 and 29. Rocky Canyons and Rocky Canyons II can be opened with Championship Event 27 and Championship Event 9. Finishing Championship Event 6 unlocks Scenic Drive II while the last two tracks, Tropical Circuit and Tropical Curcuit II, can be ulocked through Championship Events 29 and 28.
