The Orcs

The Orcs of Vvardenfell, also called the ‘Orsimer’ in the High Rock areas or ‘Pariah Folk’, are the complex barbarians which we all know from the D&D realms. There are main differences, such as the deities they worship for example, but in the main, feature the same characteristics as Orcs in any other realm.

They are known as the people of the Dragontail or Wrothgarian mountains, and are greatly skilled in the art of fighting, featuring great strength and constitution. Their society is often misunderstood by other races, as brutal and little compassionate; it is however based on honour and loyalty above all, and Orcs hold those values as important throughout their life.

Their religion is mainly centred around the worship Daedric princes, such as Malacath, and the prince Boethiah is said to be the creator of the Orcish race.

Attributes, Skill and Abilities

The governing attributes for an Orc, are Endurance and Willpower, making them excellent warriors and resistant to most forms of magic. Both are set at 50, whilst strength isn’t as high as the Nordic race, beginning at 45 points. Another attribute which has good starting points is Luck, but this determines very little in-game. Female make good Orc-Shamans, since their starting intelligence is 10 points higher than males, at 40 initial points.

Orcs have high modifiers in four separate skills, which is quite a high number when taking the other races into account. All these skills are inclined towards fighting, which Armorer, Block, Heavy Armor and Medium Armor offering a +10 modifier. Although the axe skill is commonly high for this race, it isn’t in this game, only giving +5 points.

Special abilities: Resist magicka 25%. Fortify Health 20 points for 60 seconds. Fortify Fatigue for 200 points for 60 seconds. Fortify Attack 100 points for 60 seconds.

Playing the Orc

Depending on whether you play a male or female, you could either choose to play the warrior or a shaman-type mage, with limited casting abilities and adequate fighting skills. Both genders are equally as resistant to magic, therefore you can prove effective as a wizard slayer if you wish.

The main weakness is Personality here, so you will probably have difficulty in gaining great fame with words, but you can always prove it with actions.
