I love my PS3! Nothing is as satisfying as playing a good, long and entertaining game. Below I’ve listed my five all time favorites. These classics are known for being immersive and would make a great gift for anyone that loves gaming.
5. Fallout: New Vegas
Featuring a vast post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a nuclear war, this RPG is one of the most expansive and long games you’ll ever play..
It’s actually a Shooter/RPG where you can use a first-person view (like in a FPS) or a third person view. The big difference is that you can use a “VATS system” (slow-motion shooting) and you can also improve your stats, change some events by making your own decisions, and much more. There are some glitches in the game that detract from the overall play, but it’s not enough to keep it from making this list of kick-butt games.
4. God of War III
If you still haven’t played one of the best games this gen now is the perfect time. Featuring the ever-angry antihero Kratos, the game is just a pure joy to play. It’s an action game in which you have to kill all the Gods with your trusty Blades of Exile, your magic attacks, and many other mythological items.
Everything is polished to the extreme and it boasts the best graphics seen on any console till now, only rivalled by Uncharted 2. Buy it as a present and you’ll make someone (18+) very happy!
3. Call of Duty: Black Ops
One of the most famous franchises this generation, everybody loves a good shooter like this. The game is simple: you must shoot everyone who crosses your path as quickly as possible if you want to stay alive.
It sounds repetitive but it’s an incredibly addictive game, especially the online multiplayer, where you compete against players from all over the world. If you’ve got an adolescent kid, or a husband who likes videogames, Call of Duty: Black Ops is without doubt one of the best gifts you could give them.
2. Gran Turismo 5 + Thrustmaster Official Wheel
The Real Driving Simulator is the perfect choice for this holiday, especially if you play it with a wheel to get the full experience. Racing through one of the many beautiful tracks while it’s snowing and using the ultra-detailed cockpit view is something that must be experienced.
The game is also very addictive and the amount of content is almost endless. A great game to have around for days off or “sick” days.

This is my number one game because it’s so versatile and can be enjoyed by many players, not just hard-core gamers. Featuring many realistic sports controlled by the “Move wand”, you don’t have to be particularly skilled in videogames to enjoy this game. This is a good one for kids, parents or any “casual” player. It’s a great pick for family game night and a good gift for a kid in your life (or the kid in you!).
