Opening the Emergency Door
You can start this by going to the Suites. Just take the elevator up from the lobby. You can only go to the left for now, so just go that way and walk past the cloud. Both doors lead to the same place, and the locked door actually doesn’t seem to be any better. Go through the other door and loot the bathroom for medical supplies. The other closet has a locked safe with a lot of chips and stimpaks.
Wait for the hologram of Vera in the other room to walk a short distance away (all holograms double as security, so watch out). Move into the next room and quickly go through the door on the left into the bathroom. Close the door and look to the right to find the emitter. Blow it up to kill the hologram and buy yourself a little peace.
You can go ahead and unlock the door for the experience now. Keep moving and looting. Your real goal is the next hallway, so go forward and go into the big workroom with all the washers. Run over and shut down the radio on the left to save yourself a little trouble. There’s a bunch of scrap which can be used to make things on the workbench, if you feel like doing a little crafting. Also note the three fusion batteries and scrap. Friends of Christine can make 150 chips using these materials.
The real goal is the active emergency terminal. Use this to override the seal on the first door by the elevator. You can also hack the other computer to shut off the speakers, gain part of the starlet hologram code and get the recipe for a super-heated knife. Grab the key next to the computers to open the door and save yourself a walk.
Through the Suites
Walk back out to the first hallway and backtrack to the first emergency door. Go through and watch out, because there’s another hologram on patrol. If you stick to the hallway on the right, you can make it into the security office. Hack the computer, it’s average difficulty, and unlock the security closet and change the IFF code on the holograms. You’re safe now.
Get the hunting shotgun off of the shelf, along with the ammo. The closet also has a lever-action shotgun with more ammo, and some armor. Go into the suites and loot them as you wish. There’s no real tricks now that the holograms are friendly. Shut off the radio in the corner suite, and walk through the wrecked walls until you reach a new corridor. You’ll know it, because you’ll be able to see a vending machine and a sealed kitchen area. Note that if you want to loot the kitchen, you’ll need to turn off the radio. There’s a gas leak, so blowing up a radio is probably a bad idea. Fix the leak and loot what you wish. There should be ingredients for a Sierra Madre Martini, if you wish to make one.
Go back into the new hall and walk past some double doors. These are our goal, but we have one last room to loot. Run through the cloud into the bedroom. There’s 300 chips in the suitcase, and a suit of metal armor in the closet. I believe that this is the only set of heavy armor in the casino, so take it if you want it.
Walk back to the double doors and go inside. There’s a Big Book of Science hidden on the bookshelf to the left. Take it and read it, then open the door to find Christine.
The New Vera?
If you were nice to her, she’ll open up to you. She’ll explain her past, talk about the Big Empty and give you the key to Vera’s dresser. If you don’t want to make her angry, avoid questioning her desire to kill Elijah and don’t say that you think he can be reasoned with.
Loot the dresser for Vera’s audition tape and some other gear, then take Vera’s dress off of her skeleton. There’s three med-x doses on the ground and a super stimpak by her side. You can also use the auto-doc to fix your limbs if you want.
Walk back out with Christine and tell her to just wait here. You need more than the audition tape to beat the elevator lock, so backtrack to the first elevator (you can just cut through the kitchen and the workshop to do this quickly).
Go down to the lobby and draw a good weapon. I counted 7 ghost people. Then again, you have a new shotgun, so you should be fine. I personally used all the chips I looted for automatic rifle ammo and tore through them all in a very satisfying manner.
Clear a path to the reception desk and access the music options. Download the three ambient tracks (now that the interference is all sorted) and go back up to Vera’s Suite. Activate the microphone lock, and choose to play the music. The elevator will unlock and you’ll be ready to go.
It’s time for the big heist.
