Protection Warrior Talents

Warriors who put their talents in the protection side of the talent tree are good for group play but make for a slower solo progression. They can take more abuse however.

Improved Bloodrage – No requirements and it has two ranks. It will increase the instant rage generated by Bloodrage. Rank one has 3 rage increased while Rank two has six rage increased.

Tactical Mastery – No requirements and it has three ranks. It will retain additional rage points when you are changing stances. You can use this with Stance Mastery for more. Rank one is 5 rage save alone and 15 with stance mastery, Rank two is 10 rage saved and 20 with stance mastery, and Rank three is 15 rage saved and 25 with stance mastery.

Anticipation – No requirements and it has five ranks to it. It will increase your defense skill. Rank one is +4, Rank two is +8, Rank three is +12, Rank four is +16, and Rank five is +20.

Shield Specialization – Requires five skill points in Protection and it has five ranks. It will increase the chance to block with your shield and it has a chance to generate a rage points on a block. Rank one has a 1% block chance and 20% chance to generate rage point, Rank two has a 2% block chance and 40% rage chance, Rank three has a 3% block chance and a 60% rage chance, Rank four has a 4% block chance and a 80% rage chance, and Rank five has a 5% block chance and a 100% rage chance.

Toughness – Requires five points in Protection skills and it has five ranks. It increases armor value from items. Rank one is 2% more, Rank two is 4% more, Rank three is 6% more, Rank four is 8% more, and Rank five is 10% more.

Last Stand – Requires ten points in Protection skills and it has one rank that when activated will grant temporarily 30% of the max hit points for 20 seconds.

Improved Shield Block – This requires ten points in protection skills and five in shield specialization. It has one rank that allows shield block to block another attack and increase the duration by a second.

Improved Revenge – This requires you to have ten points in protection skills and it has three ranks. It will give your Revenge a chance to stun your foe for three seconds. (Doesn’t work on Bosses) Rank one is 15%, Rank two is 30%, and Rank three is 45%.

Defiance – Requires ten skill points in Protection and it has three ranks. It will increase the threat generated by attacks while in defensive stance and increase expertise. Rank one increases 2, Rank two increases 4, and Rank three increases 6.

Improved Sunder Armor – Requires fifteen skill points in Protection and it has three ranks. It will reduce the cost of your Sunder Armor. Rank one reduces by 1, Rank two reduces by 2, and Rank three reduces by 3.

Improved Disarm – Requires fifteen Protection skill points and it has three ranks. It will increase the duration of your Disarm. Rank one is one second, Rank two is two seconds, and Rank three is three seconds.

Improved Taunt – Requires fifteen Protection skill points and it has two ranks. It will reduce Taunt’s cooldown duration. Rank one is one second reduced and Rank two is two seconds.

Protection is a good set of talents so that you are well balanced, if you aren’t going to be a Protection Warrior think about still investing a few talent points in this tree anyway.
