Affliction Warlock Talents
On the Talent tree in the Affliction side the Warlock has better DoT abilities with drains and curses. Damage over time spells (DoT) are great for those enemies that tend to flee your attacks. This way they keep slowly dying even if you are not right there hacking away at them.
Nightfall – Requires fifteen points in Affliction and has two ranks that gives Corruption and Drain life a chance to cause the caster to enter Shadow trance state after damaging the opponent. Shadow trance reduces the casting time of the next Shadow bolt by 100%. Rank one gives a 2% chance and Rank two gives a 4% chance.
Empowered Corruption – Requires fifteen points in Affliction tree and has three ranks. It gives Corruption additional percentages of bonus spell damage effects. Rank one gives 12%, Rank two gives 24%, and Rank three gives 36%.
Shadow Embrace – Requires twenty points in Affliction and it has five ranks. It will give Seed of Corruption, Corruption, Curse of Agony, and Siphon life spells to also cause the Shadow Embrace effect that will reduce your physical damage. Rank one will reduce it 1%, Rank two will reduce it 2%, Rank three will reduce it 3%, Rank four will reduce it 4%, and Rank five will reduce it 5%.
Curse of Exhaustion – Requires twenty points in Affliction and one in Amplify Curse. It has one rank that will reduce the targets speed by 30% for 12 seconds. Only one curse can be active per warlock on any one target.
Siphon Life – Requires twenty points in Affliction and it has one rank. It will transfer 15 health points from the target to the caster every 3 seconds. This will last for 30 seconds.
Shadow Mastery – Requires twenty five points in Affliction and one in Siphon Life. It has five ranks that will increase the damage dealt or the life that is drained by shadow spells by a percentage. Rank one is 2%, Rank two is 4%, Rank three is 6%, Rank four is 8%, and Rank five is 10%.
Dark Pact – Requires thirty affliction skill points and it has one rank. It will drain some of your pet’s mana and give it to you to use.
Contagion – Requires thirty affliction skill points and it has five ranks. It will increase the damage of Corruption, Seed of Corruption, and Curse of Agony by a percentage and it will reduce the chance your affliction spells will be dispelled by an extra percentage. Rank one will increase damage 1% and reduce chance of dispelling by 6%, Rank two will increase damage 2% and reduce chance of dispelling by 12%, Rank three will increase damage 3% and reduce chance of dispelling by 18%, Rank four will increase damage by 4% and reduce chance of dispelling by 24%, and Rank five will increase damage by 5% and reduce chance of dispelling by 30%.
Improved Howl of Terror – Requires thirty five points in Affliction and it has two ranks. It will reduce the casting time of Howl of Terror. Rank one will reduce it 0.8 seconds and Rank two will reduce it 1.5 seconds.
Malediction – Requires thirty five points in Affliction and it has three ranks. It will increase the damage bonus effect of Curse of Shadow and Curse of Elements by an additional percentage. Rank one increases 1%, Rank two increases 2%, and Rank three increases 3%.
Unstable Affliction – Requires forty points in Affliction and five in Contagion. It has one rank. Shadow energy will slowly destroy your target and cause 660 damage over 18 seconds. If unstable affliction is dispelled it will cause 990 damage to the dispeller and silence them for 5 seconds.
