Pre-Burning Crusade, Paladins were only available to Alliance players, but with the release of the expansion pack, Horde players not only had access to the Paladin, but to the Blood Elves as well. So, naturally, there were flocks of Horde players (and Alliance too – you know you created a Blood Elf at least once) that made Paladins and overran the population with them. But, not everyone who created a Paladin Blood Elf knew what they were doing and as they played, they got bored with them because they didn’t really understand how the Paladin class works and what they can really do.
The Paladin class is arguably the most diverse class in the whole game. Here is why: not only can they use the highest armor class - Plate - but they can heal, tank, and DPS. No matter what talent tree they choose, they can do any of those jobs. This makes them perfect for PvP, PvE, groups, raids… pretty much anything that you will run up against in World of Warcraft. It is also because of this diversity that Paladins are always in demand for groups and instances, so you will never have a problem finding a group for anything.
Now, not only are Paladins a big plus for those characteristics, but they also bring tons of buffs and enhancements to their groups, such as Blessings, Judgements, and Auras. Now, only one Blessing can be placed on a specific toon per Paladin – but, if you have more than one Paladin in a group, you can use multiple Blessings! Blessings are great in that they range from mana to attack power to stats to aggro, so you can choose the best Blessings for your group and the raid or instance that you are running at the time.
Judgements are actually debuffs that Paladins can use on an enemy that will help the whole group. What does this mean exactly? Well, here is an example: a Paladin can put a Light judgement on an enemy and whenever anyone in the group strikes that enemy, they will be healed a bit. This is a great judgement for use on bosses that take a while to take down.
Auras are another area where Paladins can buff up their group. A Paladin has several different Auras that they can choose from, all of which will help buff up the resistance to a specific type of magic, such as frost, fire, shadow, and so on. So, depending on where you are in the game, different Auras will come in handy so that your group doesn’t have to worry about them as much.
