Panzer General: Fun Turn Based Strategy That Takes a Little Work to Get Operational

Panzer General is a turn based strategy game set during the Second World War. Boasting a fairly standard hex based map populated by two dimensional unit icons representing military units, the original Panzer General game operated on the ancient Windows 3.1 operating system. A few newer versions of Windows have been released over the past twenty years, and DOS emulation in Windows Vista or 7 that is based on 64 bit architecture is no longer native to the operating systems. Panzer General cannot be run in Windows 7 directly, so would be Panzer Generals need a third party tool - and DOSBox fits the bill. Its free, open source, and verified to run on Windows Vista and 7, making it still possible to play old DOS-based Windows 3.1 games.
