Starcraft 2 Marine Strategy, Tips and Tricks

    Starcraft 2 Marine   Strong Against:

    Vulnerable To:

    Terran vs Terran

Marines are fine all-round ground troops, able to take on both ground and aerial targets, but its vital to produce them in large numbers and create a balanced force with other units such as Medivacs and Hellions to support them. Against Terran opposition, use Marines and bunkers to dominate the choke points of the map or swarm larger units such as the Marauder, but beware of large formations being decimated in splash damage attacks by Siege Tanks and the Flame Cannon of the Hellion.

    Terran vs Protoss

Marines are weaker than the Protoss ground troop the Zealot, so ensure you have numbers on your side when engaging in infantry warfare, or you may find yourself quickly outflanked. Watch out for a Protoss opponent using the Force Field Abilities of the Sentry to break up your Marine formations into smaller, more manageable groups, and the Psionic Storm Ability of the High Templar, which can grind up large swathes of Marine units very rapidly.

    Terran vs Zerg

Fighting a Zerg opponent generally means you're going to have to go head to head on numbers, so ensure you are producing a plentiful supply of Marines and then backing them up with proper support when you stride out into the open on the battlefield. Marines are an excellent counter to Hydralisks, but watch out for the Roach, as it can take a lot of punishment, and especially a Baneling rush which can wipe out a fair number of Marines in one strike.

    Conclusion

Every army needs its unknown heroes, and the Starcraft 2 Marine fills that role for the Terran faction. They will fall in numbers, but optimize your production to ensure your Barracks are spitting these guys out at a steady rate and they will prove capable of taking on far larger enemies and overcoming them in Starcraft 2 multiplayer.
