Starcraft 2 Warp Prism Strategy Tips and Tricks
Protoss vs Protoss
The Warp Prism is a vital unit in terms of Protoss mobility on the battlefield. Use its troop transport abilities to form a beachhead at an enemy stronghold, then switch to the War Prism's Phasing Mode to power up structures and enable you to use the Warp Gate to rapidly reinforce your raiders. Against Protoss opposition, ensure you've eliminated any defensive weaponry such as Photon Cannons before you bring the Warp Prism in for a troop drop off. Phoenix units will try to take out this unit while still in the air and laden with combatants, while Stalkers with the Blink ability are useful at rapidly dealing with a number of incoming Prisms.
Protoss vs Terran
Similar strategies apply when facing Terran opposition. Use your Warp Prism units to ferry shock troops to tactically important locations, and then power up building units to rapidly escalate your strength in that area. Like Photon Cannons, Terran Missile Turrets will need to be dealt with first, while Vikings will pose a significant threat to any Warp Prism fleet.
Protoss vs Zerg
When using Warp Prisms to make inroads into Zerg territory, never forget the threat posed by the Zerg Queen unit, even if you've eradicated defensive Spore Colonies before hand. Mutalisks are swift enough aerial units to be able to hunt down your Warp Prisms as well.
The Starcraft 2 Warp Prism is one of the units that will give the thoughtful Protoss tactician the edge in SC2 multiplayer. It's ability to ferry and drop troops then provide power support for buildings and warping in reinforcements means that it can be used to rapidly change the state of battle on surprising locations on a multiplayer map. Use the Warp Prism to keep your enemy guessing, and then wrong-foot them at their weakest points.
