Prototype Guide

Prototype is a fantastic action experience and you’ll be expected to wade through waves of enemies in your pursuit of victory. As the game progresses you’ll earn lots of Evolve Points (EP) and you can spend them on new devastating powers. At first they seem very expensive as you dive headlong into the chaos you’ll soon begin to rack up EP and all of the powers are well within your grasp. It is best to start with the upgrades marked Core because these are essential for success.

Prototype is a lot of fun to play and you can read more about it in the Prototype review. You can also check out the first part of the guide where we took a look at Prototype powers, movement and survivability upgrades. In this article we examine Combat upgrades, Disguise powers and skills with Vehicles and Weaponry.

Prototype Vehicles and Weaponry

Helicopters can also be hijacked after the Under the Knife mission and once again you can improve your pilot skills by consuming more helicopter pilots. You can even hijack helicopters in mid air.

Weaponry

You can use the military weaponry in the game and sometimes you’ll need to. Choices include a basic machine gun, an assault rifle, a grenade launcher and best of all a rocket launcher. You can upgrade your skills by consuming more weapons experts.

For the vehicles and weaponry the targets who will allow you to upgrade skills are specially marked on the map. These are well worth pursuing and tank hijacking in particular is very useful for quickly destroying military bases and infected hives.
