Left 4 Dead 2 Achievements
Left 4 Dead 2 Achievements
Left 4 Dead 2, created by Valve Entertainment, features a number of benefits from its integration into the Steam platform. One of the most obvious of these benefits are the Left 4 Dead 2 achievements that players can earn by completing various objectives within the game. The difficulty level of earning Left 4 Dead 2 achievements can vary greatly, with some being easy to attain during regular gameplay and others requiring players to set out specifically with the achievements in mind. The earning of achievements in the game can add a great amount of replay value, with players who wish to unlock the full 60 Left 4 Dead 2 achievements having to try out different game modes and a variety of gameplay styles in order to earn them all.
Working to Achieve
A number of the Left 4 Dead 2 achievements have been available since the game was first released, while others have been added as post-release game incentives. Some of these achievements are easy to earn, such as “Acid Reflex” (killing a Spitter before she is able to spit) and “A Ride Denied” (killing a Jockey within two seconds of it jumping onto a Survivor.) Other Left 4 Dead 2 achievements require dedication and skill to obtain, with achievements such as “Gas Guzzler” (collecting 100 gas cans in Scavenge mode), “Beat the Rush” (earning a medal in Survival mode using only melee weapons), and “The Real Deal” (surviving one of the campaigns on Expert difficulty while having Realism mode enabled) pushing players to the limit. Because of the large amount of variety that is included in the achievements, players won’t be able to earn them all if they only play specific game modes or restrict their weapon usage to one or two favorites.
“The Passing” Left 4 Dead 2 Achievements
Valve released “The Passing,” the first Left 4 Dead 2 DLC addon, in April of 2010. In addition to the new maps, features, and gameplay modes that were included in the DLC release, Valve added several new Left 4 Dead 2 achievements for players to earn. The new achievements provided players with incentives to try out new game modes and weapons, and also encouraged them to take part in the weekly “Mutations” special game modes. Left 4 Dead 2 achievements for “The Passing” include “Grave Robber” (collect ten items dropped by Fallen Survivors), “Torch Bearer” (survive the campaign in “The Passing”), “Fore!” (knock the heads off of 18 Infected using the golf club), and “Mutant Overload” (play in 6 different Mutation game modes.)
