What are Titles

Titles in Guild Wars are a way to show off a player’s achievements and accomplishments in the game. There are a total of 44 different title tracks across all the Guild Wars campaigns; Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, and Eye of the North. However, players can only achieve a maximum of 43 on any given character. The two titles that collide with each other are Survivor and Defender of Ascalon. You cannot get Defender of Ascalon without dying and you cannot die to get Survivor. So to get one the character will miss out on getting the other.

Titles are displayed under the Guild Wars character’s name. To view titles in progress or to see those that are completed tap the “h” key while in game and a screen will come up with a tab that allows you an overview of all your titles. Players can also change which title is displayed on their character from this screen as well.

Wisdom Title

The Wisdom title is a core title in the Guild Wars game that does not directly deal with any specific campaign but instead with the identification of rare items. This title contributes to gaining The Favor of the Gods in Guild Wars. Rare items can be obtained from monster drops, boss drops, and treasure chests. Most people either buy the items from others or farm them.

There are 7 ranks to the Wisdom title that characters must advance through before maxing out the title.

Players farm unidentified rare items to sell to other players trying to achieve the Wisdom title. Most of the time, located in major campaign cities, other players will sell unidentified rare items for a reasonable price. If this process takes to long and there are no unidentified gold sellers then try combining the Wisdom title and the Treasure Hunter title together. Since the character will already be opening treasure chests and has a really good chance to get rare items it is a wise idea to identify them and get points towards the Wisdom title.

Sometimes alliance members, guild members, and friends in the game will ask the group or party if he or she can identify their gold item. Simply trade the item to the interested person, they will identify the item and then trade the item back. This is very common and most people do seek help obtaining the Wisdom title.

If a player wants to start buying the unidentified golds they needs to search large cities with a lot of people; Lions Arch, KC, Kamadan, Rata Sum, Eye of the North, Gunnars Hold, and Ascalon city. These items are sold just about anywhere but the bigger the city the more likely a player is to find what they are looking for.

This title, like so many others before it, costs an extreme amount of money and time. Time finding sellers or chests and money to buy the items or lockpicks. Do not give up hope! People will help and you will prevail. Good luck farming!
