Champions Online Framework - Fire

The destructive power of fire is always one that attracts and interests people. The fire framework in Champions Online is a mix of single target and area of effect attacks.

    Definition of Terms - Champions Online Powers

    • Article Image   Energy Builder - This is basically your auto attack. It deals some damage but it is primarily there to generate energy for your other attacks.
    • Close Attack - A melee range attack.
    • Close Area Attack - Melee range or PBAoE attack.
    • Ranged Attack - An attack made at range.
    • Ranged Area Attack - An area effect attack made from range.
    • Buffs - Enhancements to yourself or allies.
    • Healing - Ability that heals self or others, or resurrects.
    • Crowd Control - Abilities that control, hold, root, or snare your opponent.
    • Summon - An ability that summons a pet to assist you.
    • Block - A block enhancing shield.
    • Tier 0 - An ability you can take without taking any other powers in the set.
    • Tier 1 - You must have 1 other power from that set, or 2 from any other set before taking the power.
    • Tier 2 - You must have 3 other powers from that set, or 5 from any other set before taking the power.
    • Tier 3 - You must have 5 other power from that set, or 8 from any other set before taking the power.

    Fire - Energy Builder

    Throw Fire (Tier 0) - This is a standard energy builder attack, but it is one of the fastest ones in the game. It also has a 10% chance to apply Clinging Flames. A few other powers take advantage of the Clinging Flames debuff.

    Fire - Ranged Attack

    Firestrike (Tier 0) - Single target damage. Applies Fiery Escalation buff to self, which increases damage from future uses of this attack for a short time. 10% chance to apply Clinging Flames.

    • 100 fire damage.
    • 7.6 energy
    • 0.67 sec activation.
    • 100 foot range.

    heat wave   Heat Wave (Tier 1) - Maintained single target damage. 10% chance to apply clinging flames. After it is maintained for a few seconds, it applies a hold to the target.

    • 182 fire damage.
    • 30 energy initially, 22 energy every 1 second.
    • 0.67 sec activation (7 sec max maintain).
    • 50 foot range.
    • 20 sec cooldown.

    Fire - Close Area Attack

    Fire Breath (Tier 1) - Maintained cone area effect attack. 10% chance per tick to apply Clinging Flames. Damage increases with longer maintain.

    • 107 fire damage.
    • 25 energy initially, 16 energy per 0.5 sec.
    • 0.67 activation.
    • 50 foot range, 45° cone.

    pyre   Pyre (Tier 2) - On tap deals PBAoE damage to enemies. On a full maintain it creates a Pyre at your location that remains and deals continual fire damage to foes. 10% chance to apply Clinging Flames to targets.

    • 165-549 fire damage.
    • 72-141 energy.
    • 1.83 sec charge.
    • 0.67 sec activation.
    • 25 foot sphere.

    Fire - Summon

    Fire Snake (Tier 3) - Summons a fire snake to damage your foes. Deals AoE fire damage around the snake while active. Reduces elemental resistances of all foes near the snake. 10% chance to apply Clinging Flames to affected foes.

    • 66 energy.
    • 30 sec cooldown.

    Fire - Ranged Area Attack

    Conflagration (Tier 2) - Deals fire damage to the target and surrounding enemies. Has a rain of fire type appearance. 10% chance to apply Clinging Flames.

    • 171 fire damage.
    • 42 energy initially, 29 energy per 0.5 sec.
    • 0.83 sec activation.
    • 50 foot range, 15 foot sphere.

    fireball   Fireball (Tier 2) - Single target damage on tap, half damage to surrounding foes. Damage and energy cost increases with charge. 10% chance to apply Clinging Flames.

    • 180-671 fire damage.
    • 42-126 energy.
    • 2.33 sec charge.
    • 0.67 sec activation.
    • 50 foot range, 10 foot sphere.

    Flashfire (Tier 3) - Creates a pyre at the target's location. Applies Clinging Flames to all targets.

    • 32 energy.
    • 50 foot range, 15 foot sphere.
    • 9.8 sec cooldown.

    Fire - Buff

    Immolation (Tier 1) - Increases damage of all attacks. Assists in breaking out of holds. Can be used while held. Counts as an Energy Form. Lowers the costs of all powers while active

    • +42% damage strength.
    • +33% Power Cost Discount.
    • Deals 1,765 Break Free damage to effects.

    Thermal Reverberation (Tier 1) - Innate passive. Generates energy from nearby enemies affected by Clinging Flames. The energy gain scales with your presence stat.

    Fiery Form (Tier 2) - Can be slotted in an Offensive or Balanced passive slot. Increases damage of all elemental attacks - damage increase scales with presence stat. Increases resistance to fire and other energy attacks. These resistances scale with recovery stat. Generates a small amount of energy when struck with fire attacks. Periodically deals damage to all foes up to 7 feet in front of you. Counts as an Energy Form.

    • 107 fire damage over 8 seconds.
    • +12% all elemental damage strength.
    • +5.1% elemental damage resistance.
    • +20% fire resistance.
