Five Hilarious Funny Games
1. Discworld Noir:
Readers of Terry Pratchett's 'Discworld' series will find Discworld Noir one of the funniest games ever developed. The game is set in the city of Ankh-Morpork, and filled with wizards, warriors, werewolves and trolls. The game revolves around a murder-mystery that has every bit as much sarcasm and fun as the books themselves. Gamers play the character of Lewton, a private detective who is assigned to solve this mystery.
The storyline is completely original and has several characters from the book such Noddy, Gaspode and Sam Vines.
2. Simon the Sorcerer Series:
Released in 1993, the game lets you play the character of a teenager named Simon who falls into a magic portal while following his dog. He finds himself in a magical world and has to save the day by rescuing a wizard named Calypso from the clutches of evil Sordid. But the ill-mannered Simon always falls into trouble by doing something ridiculous. While playing Simon, you will come across funny jokes and teasers on Classics such as Chronicles of Narnia, Jack and the Beanstalk and even Lord of the Rings!
The game had a couple of sequels and was deemed a hit, especially for offering a laugh riot. The Simon the Sorcerer series are still considered some of the best funny video games.
3. Monkey Island series:
The Secret of Monkey Island was released in October 1990. The game puts you into the shoes of a wannabe pirate named Guybrush Threepwood. The story has a romantic triangle between Threepwood, a damsel in distress and an evil Pirate named Le Chuck. The enhanced version of The Secret of the Monkey Island is available on Steam. With revamped graphics and sounds, this great game will certainly add more laughter and awesome play value.
4. Sam and Max series:
The detective duo of Sam and Max made their comic book debut in 1993 and inspired a video game series. Most Sam and Max games allow gamers to get around the wheel of the 1960 Desoto Adventurer and drive to all sorts of location, including the moon. You will have the chance to sport strange, massive but funny guns and wreak havoc while solving cases.
5. Grim Fandango:
Grim Fandango is considered a gaming classic with lots of funny stuff. This game is based in the Land of the Dead. The player dons the character of “Manny" Calavera, a travel agent in the department of Death who has the daunting task of escorting the souls of the dead to the Ninth dimension. While serving as a travel agent, he stumbles across a plot and finds out that even saints have committed sins.
The game has great graphics, some wonderful wordplay and an amazing storyline replete with loads of laughter.
