This Bayonetta trophy guide lists every trophy available in the PS3 game. There are 51 trophies in Bayonetta in total. They break down as follows:

Bayonetta Bronze Trophies - Progression

  • A Primer in the Magical Arts – Complete the Vestibule.

  • This is part of the introduction and by completing on any difficulty level you’ll get this trophy.

  • Fortitudo, Bringer of Flame – Defeat Fortitudo on any difficulty.

  • Kill the big angel with the double dragon heads at the Coliseum on any difficulty and you’ll get this trophy. Each of the bosses has a multiple stage fight and you just need to dodge a lot and figure out the weak spot.

  • Temperantia, Manipulator of Wind – Defeat Temperantia on any difficulty.

  • This is the giant boss angel that represents temperance and you’ll encounter it at the end of chapter 7. Kill it on any difficulty and you’ll get the trophy.

  • Iustitia, Giver of Life – Defeat Iustitia on any difficulty.

  • This angel represents Justice and you’ll face it in chapter 11. Kill it on any difficulty and you’ll get the trophy.

  • Sapentia, Controller of Seas – Defeat Sapentia on any difficulty.

  • Representing prudence you’ll encounter Sapentia in chapter 13 and it’s definitely unlucky for some. Kill Sapentia on any difficulty and you’ll get the trophy.

  • Master of the Heavens – Defeat Father Balder on any difficulty.

  • You’ll face the leader of the Lumen Sages in chapter 16.

  • Taste of the Witching Hour – Complete all chapters on any difficulty.

  • Finish the game on any difficulty to get this trophy.

  • Chapters 1-4 (Normal) – Complete chapters 1 through 4 on normal difficulty.

  • Work your way through to the end of chapter 4 on normal difficulty and the trophy is yours.

  • Chapters 5-7 (Normal) – Complete chapters 5 through 7 on normal difficulty.

  • Work your way through to the end of chapter 7 on normal difficulty and the trophy is yours.

  • Chapters 8-11 (Normal) – Complete chapters 8 through 11 on normal difficulty.

  • Work your way through to the end of chapter 11 on normal difficulty and the trophy is yours.

  • New Testament: Chapters 8-11 (Hard) – Complete chapters 8 through 11 on hard difficulty.

  • Complete chapters 8 to 11 on hard and you’ve got this trophy.

  • New Testament: Chapters 12-13 (Hard) – Complete chapters 12 and 13 on hard difficulty.

  • New Testament: Close the Book – Complete chapter 14 through to the epilogue on hard difficulty.

  • Complete chapter 14 through to the epilogue and finish the game on hard and you’ve got this trophy.

Bayonetta Bronze Trophies – Combat

  • I’m a Bit…I Mean Witch – Execute a Torture Attack.

  • Fill up your magic meter by pulling off combos and then hit Circle and Triangle to pull off a Torture Attack and then follow the onscreen prompt.

  • Feels Good, Doesn’t It? – Execute 50 Torture Attacks.

  • Might take you a while but you’ll do this in the course of a normal play through. If not then don’t worry it is cumulative and you can always pick it up during your hard play through.

  • You Want to Touch Me? – Engage Witch Time successfully 10 times.

  • Hit R2 just before an enemy attack to dodge and engage Witch Time (slow motion). You’ll easily get this trophy early on in the game.

  • Platinum! – Earn 10 Platinum Medals in 10 different battles.

  • Make sure you squeeze in a good variety of combo hits and finish battle sections quickly with minimal damage to earn Platinum medals.

  • Tread Not So Softly – Kill an enemy by jumping on top of them.

  • Jump and then press X again on top of an enemy or jump off something high and land on an enemy and if you kill them you’ll get this trophy.

  • Nice and Relaxed – Avert 10 enemy attacks with the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa equipped.

  • You can buy the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa for 200,000 halos and equip it on your weapons screen. If an enemy attacks press toward them with the left stick and you should see a black ring that means you’ve used the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa to avert the attack.

  • Touch and it Will Hurt – Counter 10 enemy attacks with the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa equipped.

  • The same move as avert but if you wait till the last possible moment to push toward them you’ll counter instead of just averting.

  • Come Here, Little Boy – Taunt and defeat five plus angered enemies while taking no damage. Gaze of Despair may be equipped.

  • Use L1 to taunt, tap for a quick one or hold for a longer taunt. The enemies will go orange when angered. If you use the Gaze of Despair (costs 100,000 halos) then enemies will be automatically angered without the taunt.

  • Wicked Weaver – Execute a Wicked Weave attack while using Dodge Offset.

  • Press and hold Triangle or Circle then press R2 to dodge and press Circle and Triangle together when she lands to finish with a Wicked Weave attack.

  • The Deepest Cut – Kill 20 enemies using only Iai-Jutsu with Shuraba.

  • Shuraba is the sword Rodin gives you after you bring him the right Angelic Hymn LP. Press and hold Triangle with the sword to charge it up for an Iai-Jutsu attack.

  • Higher and Higher – While never setting foot on the ground, grab 10 enemies using Kulshedra.

  • Kulshedra is the whip Rodin gives you after you bring him the right Angelic Hymn LP. Jump with X and then press and hold Triangle with the whip to grab an angel, let go and repeat 10 times in a row to get the trophy.

  • The Ice Witch – Freeze 20 enemies while wearing Odette.

  • Odette is the ice skates Rodin gives you after you bring him the right Angelic Hymn LP. Use the Circle, Circle, Circle combo to freeze enemies.

  • Naughty Tentacles – Destroy all the tentacles that drop down together during a single sequence in Chapter 9.

  • Destroy the tentacles during the Witch flight in Chapter 9, they have weak spots in the middle you can fly through.

  • A Mother’s Love – Defend Cereza during the out of body experience, ensuring she takes no damage.

  • This happens in Chapter 6 and you need to use combos to protect Cereza.

  • Fire the Afterburners – Earn Platinum medals during Verse 1 and Verse 2 of Chapter 14.

  • You’ll be riding a rocket, just make sure you use R2 to dodge plenty and then use Square and Circle to fire away.

Bayonetta Bronze Trophies – Other

  • Double, Double Toil and Trouble – Create 20 Concoctions.

  • You’ll find various ingredients that can be used to create handy lollipops, create 20 of any type and you’ll get this trophy.

  • Seeker of Magic – Purchase three new techniques.

  • Purchase three techniques from Rodin to get this trophy.

  • Record Collector – Obtain three complete Angelic Hymn Gold LP’s.

  • You’ll find these hidden throughout the map and you can trade them for weapons with Rodin.

  • Treasure Collector – Discover half of all the Umbra Witches’ final resting places.

  • You’ll find chests with chains around them dotted throughout the map. They are in fact tombs and if you find half of them you’ll get this trophy (there are 45 in total).

  • The Path to the Heavens – Discover all Alfheim Portals.

  • You’ll need to find all 21 portals to get this trophy.

  • Just in the Nick of Time – Dodge the runaway streetcar during Chapter 2.

  • You’ll see this coming in a cutscene, press R2 to dodge it and you’ll get the trophy.

Bayonetta Silver Trophies

  • Umbra Witch – Complete all chapters on normal difficulty.

  • Work your way through the whole game on normal difficulty and you’ll unlock Hard difficulty and get this trophy.

  • Umbra Elder – Complete all chapters on hard difficulty.

  • Beat the game on hard difficulty and you’ve got this trophy. You’ll also unlock the Infinite Climax difficulty setting.

  • Nice Try – Engage Witch Time successfully 10 times consecutively.

  • You’ll need to successfully dodge with R2 to engage Witch Time 10 times in a row without being hit.

  • Touch and it Will Really Hurt – Counter three enemy attacks consecutively with the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa equipped.

  • You can buy the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa for 200,000 halos and equip it on your weapons screen. Press the left stick towards the enemy at the moment of their attack and you should pull off a counter. Do it three times in a row without mistake and you’ve got this trophy.

  • Wicked Weave Master – Execute 20 Wicked Weave attacks while using Dodge Offset.

  • Press and hold Triangle or Circle then press R2 to dodge and press Circle and Triangle together when she lands to finish with a Wicked Weave attack. Repeat 20 times to get this trophy.

  • Commander of Magic – Purchase all techniques.

  • Buy all 11 techniques from Rodin and you’ve earned this trophy.

  • Record Fanatic – Obtain seven complete Angelic Hymn Gold LP’s.

  • There are nine in total hidden throughout the map. Collect seven of them and you’ve got this trophy.

  • Treasure Fanatic – Discover all of the Umbra Witches’ final resting places.

  • You’ll find chests with chains around them dotted throughout the map. They are in fact tombs and if you find all of them you’ll get this trophy (there are 45 in total).

  • Angel May Cry – Complete half of all Alfheim Portals.

  • You’ll need to beat half of the 21 challenges hidden in each Alfheim Portal to get this trophy.

  • Truth in its Purest Form – Collect all of Antonio’s Notes.

  • Collect all the notes hidden throughout the map, they are glowing pieces of purple paper.

Bayonetta Gold and Platinum Trophies

  • Legendary Dark Witch – Complete all chapters on Infinite Climax difficulty.

  • Work your way through the whole game again on Infinite Climax difficulty and you’ll win this trophy.

  • Angel Slayer – Complete all Alfheim Portals.

  • You’ll need to beat all of the 21 challenges hidden in each Alfheim Portal to get this trophy.

  • Acquire all Trophies – Acquire all trophies.

  • As usual the Platinum Trophy is a bonus for unlocking all of the other trophies in the game.
